Day 1 with Ed – we found some. Ed had a great day on the water with a string of hefty rock fish and a large king salmon.
Great two day trip with Ed. Day 2 – Salmon weren’t finding our baits on the outside, so after a few hours of kayak fishing lingcod and rockfish we headed east to end the day on the halibut focus. Bite was a bit slow to develop, but that’s how it should be. We worked to find them and then bagged limits. Ed got a quick but exciting ride from a thresher that took off like a drag racer, jumped a few times and shook the hooks – great leader and knot validation when that happens! Near the end of the session we had choves behind us on the barbless and had one hot pumper on – I know where I’ll be looking for a chrome next weekend…
We capped off our trip with cold beers at the tailgate fillet station and then a tasty dinner and one more beer at Gyppo. Ed’s heading home with a full cooler and a happy smile. Thanks, buddy, for supporting my business and working hard with me to make the trip a great time.
